Most entrepreneurs spend months thinking about funding. You're going to do it in 14 days. Business Buddy — powered by Capital OS — is your AI guide the entire way. Show up daily, complete the checklist, post your wins in the community, and watch what happens.

📋 What You Need Before Day 1
- ✅ A Blaque Net account — sign up free here
- ✅ Your business basics — name, industry, years in business, annual revenue range
- ✅ Your EIN (Employer Identification Number) — free from IRS if you don't have one
- ✅ A business bank account — even a basic free one separates your finances
- ✅ 30–60 minutes per day of focused time. That's all this takes
- ✅ A commitment to post daily in the community feed — your accountability matters to this whole community
📅 Week 1: Foundation & Discovery
Days 1–7 · Build your capital profile, know your score, find your matches
🏗️ Set Your Foundation — Profile & Presence
Everything starts with structure. Today you're building the foundation that every funding application, every lender conversation, and every credit decision will be built on.
- List your business in the Blaque Net Business Directory — go to blaquenet.com/pages and add your listing today
- Create your Capital OS profile — open Business Buddy and complete your business intake: industry, revenue, years in business, location, demographics
- Verify your EIN is active — if you don't have one, apply free at IRS.gov
- Confirm you have a business bank account — personal accounts disqualify you from most funding programs
- Post your Day 1 intro in the community feed: who you are, what your business does, and why you're taking the challenge. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
- Join the Funding Challenge Business Circle in the Circles tab
You can't improve what you don't measure. Today you get your Capital Readiness Score — a 100-point assessment across five categories that tells you exactly where you stand and what lenders and grant committees will see.
- Run your Capital Readiness Score in Business Buddy — ask for your full 5-component score
- Review your score breakdown: Business Structure, Financial Health, Documentation, Certifications, Funding Pipeline
- Identify your two lowest-scoring areas — these become your Week 1 improvement targets
- Screenshot your score and post it in the community feed with what you're working to improve. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
- Reply to 2 other Day 1 posts in the community — celebrate someone else's commitment
Today Capital OS does the heavy lifting. Based on your profile, Business Buddy will match you with grants, loans, and programs you're actually eligible for — not a generic list, but opportunities matched to your industry, location, demographics, and business stage.
- Run your Funding Sprint in Capital OS — complete the 5-stage profile for AI-matched results
- Review your matched grants list — note deadlines, eligibility requirements, and award amounts
- Review your matched lenders list — note which require business credit and which use revenue-based approval
- Select your Top 5 targets — at least 3 grants and 2 lenders you will pursue this challenge
- Post your top funding target in the community feed — what are you applying for and why? Tag #BNFundingChallenge
Your personal credit score doesn't have to limit your business. Today you start building a separate business credit profile that will open doors to funding your personal score never could.
- Apply for your D-U-N-S Number at dnb.com — free, takes up to 30 days to process
- Sign up for Nav.com (free) to monitor your business credit score across all 3 bureaus
- Open at least 1 net-30 vendor account — Uline, Quill, or Grainger all report to business credit bureaus
- Make a small purchase on your new vendor account — even $30 starts your payment history
- Post your credit-building action in the community feed — inspire others to start. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
Every funding application asks for the same core documents. Most entrepreneurs scramble to find them at the last minute — losing hours and sometimes missing deadlines. Today you build your funding document folder so you're always application-ready.
- Create a dedicated "Funding Documents" folder — Google Drive, Dropbox, or your preferred storage
- Gather and upload: EIN letter, business registration documents, last 2 years tax returns (personal + business), 3–6 months bank statements
- Use Business Buddy to generate your business narrative — a 2–3 paragraph business description for grant applications
- Use Business Buddy to generate your executive summary — key metrics, mission, and funding use statement
- Post your "document check" win in the community feed — what did you find that you were missing? Tag #BNFundingChallenge
Today you stop preparing and start submitting. This is the day most people never reach — because they keep "getting ready." Your documents are built. Your matches are identified. Today you apply.
- Select your first target — choose the grant or loan from your Day 3 list with the nearest deadline
- Ask Business Buddy to help you complete the application — paste the questions and get AI-assisted answers tailored to your business
- Review, personalize, and submit — make sure your voice comes through, then submit
- Log the submission — record the date, program name, amount, and expected response time
- 🎉 POST YOUR SUBMISSION in the community feed — this is a big deal. Celebrate it. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
You're halfway there. Today is your reset day — review what you've accomplished, identify what needs attention in Week 2, and share your momentum with the community.
- Review your Week 1 checklist — complete any items you missed before moving to Week 2
- Run an updated Capital Readiness Score — how much have you improved in 7 days?
- Confirm your Week 2 application targets — you should have 4 more applications to submit
- Check in with your Business Circle — reply to 3 community members, share resources, celebrate wins
- Post your Week 1 recap in the community feed — what did you accomplish, what was hardest, what are you going into Week 2 to tackle? Tag #BNFundingChallenge
📅 Week 2: Apply, Optimize & Finish Strong
Days 8–14 · Submit applications, build your pipeline, close the challenge
Government and minority business programs are some of the most underapplied funding sources in the country — because most entrepreneurs don't know they exist or think the process is too complex. Today you change that.
- Check your SBA eligibility — specifically for SBIR/STTR (tech businesses), 8(a) program, and SBA microloans
- Check MBDA programs at mbda.gov — free consulting and capital access programs for minority-owned businesses
- Research your city/county minority business grant programs — ask Business Buddy to find programs specific to your location
- Submit Application #2 — a government or minority-specific program
- Post your Day 8 action in the community feed. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
Grants are the goal, but loans and lines of credit give you speed and flexibility. Today you pursue a business financing option — and if you've been building credit since Day 4, you're already ahead of most applicants.
- Research CDFIs in your area — Community Development Financial Institutions have more flexible approval than banks and are built for underserved entrepreneurs
- Check your eligibility for a business line of credit — ask Business Buddy to recommend lenders matched to your revenue and credit profile
- Submit Application #3 — a CDFI loan, SBA microloan, or business line of credit
- Open a second net-30 vendor account — keep building that credit profile
- Post your financing action in the community feed. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
Funding isn't just about applications — it's about visibility. Lenders Google you. Grant committees look at your digital presence. Partners check if you're active in your community. Today you amplify your signal.
- Update your Blaque Net business directory listing — add photos, services, and your complete business description
- Claim or update your Google Business Profile at google.com/business — critical for local credibility
- Post a business win or insight on LinkedIn — something real and specific to your industry
- Engage with 5 other businesses in the Blaque Net community — comment, like, and share in the community feed
- Post your visibility wins in the community feed. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
Momentum is everything. Today you double down — submitting two more applications and pushing your pipeline to 5 active opportunities. Your documents are ready. Business Buddy is ready. Let's go.
- Submit Application #4 — a grant from your Day 3 matched list that you haven't yet applied to
- Submit Application #5 — your boldest application. The one you've been hesitating on because it seems too big. Apply anyway.
- Update your funding tracker — document all 5 applications with status, amounts, and next follow-up dates
- Ask Business Buddy for follow-up email templates for each application so you're ready to follow up at the right time
- Post your 5-application milestone in the community feed. This is a big deal — celebrate it. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
Submitting is step one. Following up is what separates funded entrepreneurs from ones who applied and forgot. Today you become the kind of applicant funding organizations remember.
- Follow up on Application #1 — if it's been 5+ days, send a polite status inquiry or submit any additional documents requested
- Verify receipt of all applications — confirm every submission was received and no additional information is needed
- Check your Nav.com credit report — confirm your D-U-N-S is active and your first trade line is reporting
- Ask Business Buddy for rejection recovery guidance — know your plan if one comes back declined, so it doesn't stop your momentum
- Post your Day 12 update in the community feed. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
The challenge ends tomorrow. But your funding journey doesn't. Today you build the system that keeps you applying, building credit, and accessing capital long after Day 14.
- Set a monthly "Funding Day" — the same day every month you dedicate 2 hours to finding and applying to new funding opportunities
- Set calendar reminders to pay your vendor accounts — 1 day before due. Pay early. Build your score relentlessly.
- Schedule your next Capital OS Funding Sprint in 30 days to refresh your matches with updated profile data
- Bookmark your funding tracker and set follow-up reminders for all 5 active applications
- Consider upgrading your Capital OS plan — PRO and ELITE unlock deeper grant matching, AI-generated pitch decks, federal contract readiness reports, and a 3-year financial model. View plans here →
- Post your system setup in the community feed. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
You did it. 14 days. Consistent action. Real applications in real pipelines. Today you celebrate, share your journey with the community, and commit to the next chapter of your funding story.
- Complete your final Capital Readiness Score — compare Day 1 vs. Day 14. Share your improvement.
- Count your submissions — total applications submitted, total capital in pipeline
- Write your challenge recap post — your full 14-day journey, biggest lessons, and what's next. This is your community spotlight moment. Tag #BNFundingChallenge
- Tag a fellow entrepreneur in your post and challenge them to start their 14 days
- Stay active in the Blaque Net community — your story is now social proof that inspires the next entrepreneur
