The North Carolina rapper previously opened up about his brother's mental health struggles.
DaBaby is mourning the passing of his older brother, Glenn Johnson, who reportedly died by suicide yesterday. The Charlotte, N.C. rapper posted a snippet of his September 2019 song, “INTRO,” along with lyrics that reflected on Johnson’s struggles with mental health.
On the song, DaBaby raps:
"My brother be thinkin' that we don’t love him and let him struggle like we ain’t family
Like I won’t give up all I got to see you happy, n-gga"
After the lyrics, he posted a short video urging everyone to connect with their loved ones. “Check on your people,” he said. “That’s my advice. I want you to call and say, ‘Yo what’s up bro? You straight?’ Do that.” He also updated his Instagram bio to read “LONG LIVE MY BROTHER
